As long as everyone's busy promoting animes and visual novels that they like, I thought I might as well mention Myself; Yourself, an anime based on a visual novel.

I really loved it. It's a mystery, a romance and a comedy. There's a lot of misdirection in the story line. It leads you off in one direction, and then takes you some place else entirely.

Just 13 episodes, available in one torrent from animesuki. Also available on the popular anime streaming sites, I believe.

Myself ; Yourself is set in 2007 in the fictional town Sakuranomori (桜乃杜?) in W Prefecture which is modeled after Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. The town is in a quiet, rural area on the southern tip of the prefecture and borders the Pacific Ocean. Sakuranomori is the birthplace of Sana Hidaka, a sixteen year old high school student, who grew up with his childhood friends Nanaka Yatsushiro, & Aoi Oribe, his best male friend Syusuke Wakatsuki, and his twin sister Syuri Wakatsuki. Sana left Sakuranomori when he was eleven years old, but returns five years later living on his own in the apartment building Aoi's family runs. Sana soon finds out that while some things have stayed the same, there are still just as many things that have changed.

So, it sounds like the setup for your traditional harem anime, but this is a show that really defies expectations. It really isn't what it appears to be and it deserves your attention.

Interesting. I haven't watched an anime since Death Note. Kinda lost interest in anime as I came to like H!P and Japanese Doramas.

But your description sounds vauge enough to know that I have to watch this anime.

If the VisualNovel has been translated, is it worth hunting that down instead of the anime?

On the final episode, the closing translators talk about the visual novel.

I really love the anime, but I doubt I'd be willing to sit through the visual novel with just summaries.

Anime, it is! :D

It's a shame that we don't get Japanese Visual Novel games released here, guess there just isn't the market for it.
