Let's talk about the popular fashion & trends in Japan. They have a lot of unique style like ganguro, goth, lolita etc. Japan is like the fashion capital of Asia so we might as well talk about that.
ATM, I'm really curious about the big socks fashion :/

I really like Japanese fashion. Everyone dresses the way they want and not what they are expected to wear ~ like me. I always try to dress in my own style. I wouldn't call it an Asian style though just a liam style. BTW have you any pics of the latest japanese fashions

I'm not very sure of the latest fashion trends. It always depends on the season. I think skinny jeans and pointed shoes are kinda cool.

Japanese fashion sure are weird and unique in it's own ways. Sometimes they're just over the top. It's kinda hard to know whether they're wearing it as a fashion or cosplaying.
Cosplay is a fashion, in a sense.

I know u'd say that dran. U're a cosplayer afterall.
There isn't much motivation for cosplayers here in Scotland, as all the best Anime conventions are in Japan and the US. We get a small one (normally up to 500 people) in Glasgow every once in a while, but 500 people is a tiny event, not to mention I don't want to be the one walking through glasgow at night still in costume. Glasgow's already dangerous enough. :P XD
Anyway. I still think the person in the make-shift skirt has gone completely insane...

You call a 500 people cosplay event small?
The one I went to last year there was about 70 people of which about 45 were cosplaying :O
Haha it was funny to walk around with cosplayers though and see normal people walking outiside the bookstore thinking wtf? :P
Japanese fashion is awesome. I'd love to see people walking around Newcastle dressed like that. :P
It is small when you think that most US conventions (and there are LOTS) usually get anywhere from 10,000 people to the 40,000+ people at last years Anime Expo.
Then in Japan, numbers tend to go much higher than even that!

I guess but compared to the one down here 500 is a lot of people. I don't even think there was that number of people in the shopping centre at that time!
It's a shame there aren't any bigger ones closer to where we live though.
Yeah. I think the biggest ones in the UK are AmeCon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmeCon) in Leicester and AyaCon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AyaCon) in Warwick (but this one hasn't run in a few years). Both of these seem to average around 1200 people. D:

anyway the guy in the blue at the bottom looks like someone from a manga. I think its cool the way they just wear whatever they like.

They tend to use the costumes in manga/anime/games as references for fashions. At least that's what I think. I think the person in the handmade skirt is using manga/anime/games as reference. Maybe from final fantasy.

In the FRUiTS photobook, the people whose picture was taken was also interviewed, and were often asked what the 'point of their fashion' was along with where they bought the clothes, etc.
The first picture's outfit was simply inspired by "Harajuku-Style"..at least, thats what the man/women (I can't tell, their name is Ryuko..) said.
The second is "Twin Rockers" and all of their clothes are hand-made.
For the third, the man on the lefts 'point of fashion' was "Piko-piko" (whatever that means..) and the girl on the rights was "full of youthfulness".

Yeah. They always have a theme and the themes are usually about youthfulness and all other crap. I just don't buy that. And that girl's outfit has no trace of youthfulness at all. It's like some kid who don't know what to wear for an outing. But the twin rockers is very good. But this is just my opinion ;)

haha. Its great how its ever-changing. People will buy clothes from stores and alter them to make them their own. Not a lot of people do that in other countries (other than size?)

U've got a point there. Not many people made clothes for themselves. They just go to the store and buy them.
